Absalom! Absalom! was heavy going... but there's nothing like Faulkner in the summertime, all that talk of wistaria and dust and southern balmy nights. I bought the book at an airport in the US, because I though it would be an appropriate time to start reading some American literature again. This sketch, which didn't have any intent, sort of reminded me of it, cow skulls and coffins I guess. Also, thanks everyone for your continuing kindness!

Spiritual gimmick

I also raided the opshop for this frame and massive print--can't argue with $20 for the lot--because I thought I would paint on it... but the more I look at it, the more I want it to stay as it is. I'll have to think about it some more.
