Layer cake

As a serial accessoriser, and owner of a lot of weird statement jackets, overcoats and dusters, I'm always looking for the perfect, simple dress to play a supporting role... And this dress from Sugarlips fits the bill perfectly. It's a sweet, clean cut with just the right amount of lace and layers to make it interesting in its own right. And as we're rapidly heading into autumn here in Melbourne, I can see this one being paired up with tights, jackets, hats, belts and boots right through until it's too cold to go out.

I bought the big crystal pendant at the new Peoples' Market at Melbourne Docklands yesterday -- I'm in love, I want to wear it everywhere.

Saturday mornings

As much as I hate how full time work leaves me with no spare time, I do like that it makes me appreciate the times when I do get the opportunity to do the things I love -- Saturday mornings sleeping in with Bay and some puppies, drawing, drinking coffee or cider, reading, daydreaming...

So I'm understandably pretty excited about Easter long weekend. And not only is it four blissful days of not-work, it's also a two-year milestone for me and Bay. That's been two years of the best adventures, most fun times and things getting continually better in all different parts of our lives.

Keep the good things going.

WANDERING: JACK'S BAR

We drove Geoffrey's Kingswood a little way out of the suburbs and into the mountains, to a place called Jack's Bar. The whole joint is constructed out of recycled gear; old, valuable things in the cool, sharp mountain air. 

Bay found some insects, chickens and a hidden cinema tower -- my love leads good adventures. 

But it was a nice way to spend a Sunday, for a change, checking out the landscape, drinking and chilling, wandering.

Speaking of spellbound... I found a cute, witchy-hippie shop today in the city that smells like all the witchy-hippie shops at home. 

So I bought a giant amethyst pendant that I'm very pleased with and can't wait to rig up on chains heavy enough to hold it... I'll post some photos of it soon.
